“ Everything was amazing, best Mexican food we've had in Newport News. The horchata was heavenly with bits of cinnamon. We ordered one chicken empanada to share, four tacos (two shrimp, two al pastor) and the mole enchiladas. The smokey sauce and the verde sauce was delicious. Highly recommend. ”
“ It's not every day you visit a restaurant where the employees clearly love what they do. The food being great is just a bonus. We came in here for the first time and it was just incredible. The server was charming and funny while being very helpful in his suggestions. We ended up with bean and cheese pupusas, a chicken torta, and churros for dessert. All phenomenal. While we were dining, several families and take out orders came through and the staff's interactions with them were wonderful! You could tell they cared and made it a very personal experience for everyone. If you're looking for great food and amazing service, do yourself a favor and check this place out! ”
“ We came here tonight and had zero expectations because we went an hour before closing. However, this place was absolutely amazing, clean, had great service, and quality food with great prices. I’m from Cali and this is by far the best I’ve gotten my entire time in Virginia. Staff was extremely helpful in picking out some choices. Update- they are still decent but wish they were more consistent. Some days the food is great and other days it’s not. They need to equally train all the cooks ”
“ I am a huge Mexican food girlie and everything in this place was top tier. The atmosphere to the service to the excellent food. Every bite I took was so good that I nearly laughed because it’s been so long since I’ve been to a place that has everything right. 10/10 recommend and will be back ! The only thing that they don’t have yet ( they are working on it) is alcohol but regardless excellent atmosphere / food ! Would have left a picture but I ate it all ”
“ Jarochitos Tacos better than Juan's or Jose Tequilas. Wow! Ken had shrimp tacos. Joshua had 2 birria tacos & 1 barbacoa taco. I had an asada huarache. We shared the chicken empanadas. FRESH!!! TASTY!!! Generous portions. We have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We returned for our son's birthday dinner tonight! YUM! ”
“ One of only a few places that I’d say deserve solid, unwavering, indisputable 5 stars! Not only is service so inviting and friendly where smiles are abundantly served with such lively music that makes you want to dance! When you enter the restaurant you notice decor that pays homage to Mexico - large heavy wooden carved chairs that resemble those of knights of the round table, and wooden booths and even long tables for a feast. The walls are colorful and large replicas of tacos sit on top of the bar. Horchata is scooped with a ladle into large glasses right at the bar. My friend ordered fresh guacamole, large size feeds 2 to 3. Chips are crispy and warm. I ordered their juacho (steak and shrimp) taco and birria taco. Both were heavenly: meats were seasoned and tender. The tacos were accompanied by fresh slices of cucumber and radish and freshly sliced lemons. The consomme for the birria was so delicious, the right amount of savory, I literally drank it all even without the taco to dip it in! I definitely would drive the 60 miles round trip over and over to try EVERYTHING! ”
